Walk and Talk Therapy
This is where we take a walk together during a session. Using the same framework for all Human Givens therapy but adapted to being out of doors, gentle walking in a more natural setting to conventional therapy spaces can be relaxing, grounding and a welcome change to sitting indoors.
Some of the methods available to Human Givens psychotherapy and counselling can only take place in quiet indoor spaces (for instance the REWIND technique for trauma PTS and phobias) but movement and being in more natural surroundings can help improve mood and general mental well-being enhancing the benefits of therapy. Some people find it easier to talk whilst out of doors, feeling less tense or “stuck” and in our fast paced modern world a gentle walk whilst we work together adds a little nature back into our world.
For those that would like to be outside but not walking I offer access to my garden so we can enjoy the benefits of being outside whilst we work together.
